Auchen Castle

Have just returned from being at a wedding here from Friday to Saturday, all I can say is wow for location it's absolutely beautiful surrounding areas flowers bushes galore, the service was top notch as the staff kept offering canopies around and explaining what they were which is obviously not easy when in fairly loud crowded rooms, the staff were also on hand very regularly to top drinks back up and had vegetarian options also for everything. The wedding meal was excellent and wasn't dry as lovely sauces and gravy served on them. Rooms are well layed out and very clean the bed was ultra comfy only gripe would be that the room was so hot when arriving and for changing in for the reception a bit uncomfortable so had to open all windows and corridor windows but still didnt help much this would of been full marks for rooms but had to mark it down slightly for this, definitely would recommend and return.

We were here for the weekend for a family wedding. Great location with easy access from the motorway at Moffat. Very quiet area and beautiful castle. A lot of character to produce an amazing experience for the wedding celebration we attended. I would certainly consider here for a function myself. The staff were all welcoming and excellent throughout the entire stay. Highly recommended.

Auchen Castle may be one of the Brightest Gems in the Scottish Lowlands for a Wedding Venue. My wife and I decided on a destination wedding involving a select group of friends and family (Roughly 30 People) after much deliberation. We knew the area where we wanted to get married but we were very meticulous in our preparation for choosing the venue we dreamed of. We had a large list of venues and met with quite a few people over video calls from Scotland. With our time difference it seemed to be a big task in finding time out of our schedules to meet and ask questions. There was lots of emails and a very big email chain to work through... If nothing else was fantastic about this venue I would still be writing this review just to talk about how gracious, kind, helpful, and wonderful the staff was from top to bottom! There is no words that can express the gratitude we have for the Team at Auchen! I could go on and on about the food, the decor, the atmosphere, the care, the rooms, and yet I cant help you choose this place more than tell you now if you are reading this review you've made the right choice! Don't wait to contact do it as soon as you can! Let them help you plan out your dream of what you want for a wedding. The Photos are a testament to the detail and love poured into this place by the staff! December 15th, 2025 will remain the most magical day in our lives due to this venue.
