a month agoHad a deeply unprofessional experience with a wedding planner at this venue involving her raising her voice and speaking very rudely to my 9 year old child. For context: 1. He was not supposed to go into the Private Suite at that time and he was unaware. He had been in that room earlier in the day, as that’s where I had gotten dressed. 2. When the reception began, we were waiting to do our grand entrance and he was not with his dad and I. He was with other family already in the reception room. 3. He was thirsty, went into the grooms area (where he’d been earlier in the day and where there was a mini fridge with drinks), saw there was only beer, so went to the Private Suite (which also had a mini fridge) for a drink. 3. Upon opening or attempting to open the door, he was yelled at so rudely and aggressively by the wedding coordinator that family members several feet away heard the exchange and came to tell me about it, as did my child. Was my son supposed to go in that room? No. Did he know that? No. Did the wedding planner have a job to do? Yes. Does that make what she did acceptable or appropriate? Absolutely not. A simple “whatcha looking for sweetie” would’ve sufficed. I encourage the staff to go through some additional training on appropriate communication with children. EDITED TO ADD: Family members who saw this event have also left reviews. Hidden Pines has had those reviews deleted twice. I’m therefore updating my review to add a screenshot of the deleted review and Hidden Pines’ response. While I sympathize with the fact that Hidden Pines is not a fan of these reviews, it is concerning that it seeks to delete thoughtful reviews with constructive criticism.

a month agoWhile the wedding itself went smoothly and the bride's “needs” appeared to be met, my experience with one member of the venue staff was extremely disappointing. A staff member was unnecessarily rude and dismissive toward a 9-year-old child during the event. There is a difference between enforcing venue policies, bridal requests, and speaking to a child in a respectful, age-appropriate manner. Unfortunately, that line was crossed. While I can appreciate that she was focused on doing her job and ensuring the event ran according to plan, professionalism should extend to all guests, including children. A wedding venue should be a welcoming environment, and this interaction left a lasting negative impression on our family. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend the venue without reservation. As a suggestion, I would encourage management to provide additional customer service training focused on interacting with children and families. Weddings often include guests of all ages, and staff should be equipped to communicate with children in a calm, respectful, and age-appropriate manner. A little patience and kindness can go a long way in creating a positive experience for everyone involved.

2 months agoI would like to take this opportunity to thank Brenda, our daughter’s wedding coordinator on May 29. She was absolutely amazing. From the moment we walked through the door with additional decorations, Brenda welcomed us warmly and took care of everything. She assisted our family and friends with setting up the décor, and thanks to her attention to detail, everything looked beautiful. Throughout the day, Brenda was incredibly helpful, professional, and supportive, especially during a difficult situation. Her calm presence and willingness to help made a tremendous difference. What stood out most, however, was the kindness and compassion she showed toward my grandson, who is on the autism spectrum. She went out of her way to help heat up his food, ensure he was comfortable in the family room, and make him feel welcome and cared for. Those thoughtful gestures meant so much to our family. Brenda, thank you for your hard work, dedication, and genuine care. You played an important role in making our daughter’s wedding day so special. Please keep making people’s dreams come true—you are truly exceptional.
