in the last weekI stayed at this beautiful hotel during a recent trip to Scotland. There are many things to love about this hotel - it is literally a historic castle filled with paintings, coats of armor, and incredible carvings. The rooms themselves are extremely large with plenty of space to spread out. Similarly, the staff is incredibly nice and helpful. We had dinner and drinks in the bar, and there are several seating options available for you depending on what you want/need. There are also acres upon acres of grounds, and you can do a really nice hike behind the property along a river bed. The only downsides are that you are about 20-30 minutes outside of Edinburgh, so you will need to drive into the city for those activities. Luckily, if you have a car there is plenty of parking in front of the hotel. Also, all nice restaurants in the area (including in the hotel) require reservations - although this seems to be a common issue in Scotland. In general, this is a fantastic hotel and I highly recommend it.

in the last weekWe were given a gift of an afternoon tea here and have to say it was absolutely beautiful. The staff are friendly, chatty and very good with requests. This is a hotel too, we didn't stay this time but plan on booking a couple of nights. Absolutely stunning grounds. The food was fresh, tasty and made well. So relaxing. Cant wait to come again :)
