The Springs Weddings & Events

Just got married here about almost a month! I loved the venue, amazing , beautiful, air conditioning was perfect for this July weather . Ladies working the contracts were amazing however we did have two different bad experiences 1. With the catering at the springs , food was great however they stopped serving it before everyone had a plate , I myself as the bride went to get a plate of food and they said they had already had put away everything , I talked to my coordinator because me and my now husband hadn’t even had a plate and my Dj then went also to get a plate at the same time and he was told it was in the back in the kitchen , he walked in and they (the workers) were behind in the kitchen packing themselves the food to take home in black containers before packing it in the fridge. Which I think is not correct firstly bc that’s our food which we payed for, for us and our guests. Which is also why I’m guessing they packed the food so fast before they left . So brides definitely have a family member pack your food and put it away because any left over they will be taking them home and leaving u a small tray of THEIR left overs. 2nd bad thing was , the cleaning lady’s, I don’t know her name , I don’t know who she was but she had blonde ish hair and was a bit older , she threw away allllll of our champagne glasses when she was told by the coordinator not to do so! And obviously u don’t throw champagne glasses away? … family members also saw her throwing away OUR charger plates and she was told not to and put them back , she was trying to clean everything quickly which I get but cmon now. Brides ! Be careful if you’re bringing your own stuff , the catering bc the food was delicious however if u don’t mind the workers taking the food u payed for .. especially with the catering which is around 5k. Definitely be careful with them. Apart from that the venue itself , was great, the manager and the other lady was great. I did talk to someone about this issue of course because that is MY money that’s being wasted, I never heard back after “I’m gonna talk to the catering and I’ll call u right back” , I’m guessing it’s not really something of importance to them , especially if it’s not $400 of their money in the trash but unless they can offer a refund for the champagne glasses , I don’t prefer a call back .. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am going to start with the positive, the place is beautiful both inside and out. I can see why brides would choose it. Now the negative, we had 1 hour to turn and decorate the room from a Nigerian ceremony to the traditional reception. The staff of 3 could not have done this without our help. We had no problem pitching in by moving 125 chairs upstairs and setting up tables downstairs. My issue came after dinner was served. No one bussed the tables and there were no available trash cans anywhere in sight. The tables were a mess. The chairs were hard and all scratched up, unlike the outdoor chairs that were padded. The couple paid extra for 8:00 AM- until midnight however, they planned to leave at 7:30. When the Nigerian ceremony ran over by 45 minutes, they asked to extend until 8:30 before the send off. They were told no. I was part of the family that had to clean up and pack decorations. We had to bus every single table before doing so while the staff of 3 danced in a far corner. I found them very hands off and elusive to our needs. The bathroom in the bridal room was stopped up. A plumber was called but he could not fix it. I was overall disappointed for the entire day but our family did everything we could to keep the disappointment from the bride and groom. I have attended hundreds of weddings in my lifetime and this facility ranked in the bottom 3 for service.Thank God they have family that stepped in and stepped up to make it a special day.
